Check a PDF Before Sending It

A document can look finished while still carrying document properties, review annotations, embedded attachments, or scripts. Those items may be intentional, but they should not travel to a recipient by accident. A pre-send scan creates a short review list before the file reaches a client, customer, colleague, filing system, or public download page.

The scanner reports supported signals rather than judging the document’s purpose. A metadata result means a property is present; it does not expose the property value. An annotation or embedded-content result means that structure exists and should be reviewed in an appropriate PDF application.

Emailing a draft to a trusted collaborator is different from publishing a final document or sending it outside your organization. Decide which properties and interactive features are appropriate for the destination before acting on the report. If the recipient needs comments or a form, their presence may be expected; if the file is a public copy, the same items may require removal.

Use the scan on the actual outbound file after export. Editing software can add creator, producer, date, annotation, or attachment structures during the final save, so a report from an earlier copy does not describe the version you are about to send.

The tool does not decide whether visible names, addresses, account details, images, or page content are appropriate to share. It does not remove findings, certify compliance, or replace a document-review policy. Complex clipping masks and unusual graphics may also fall outside the supported patterns.

Pages without an extractable text layer may be scans or image-based pages. On those pages the tool cannot verify whether a visual redaction removed underlying information. Review the original workflow and use purpose-built redaction software when the report shows limited coverage.
